Nueces County Drainage District Drainage district was created to control storm and flood waters of rivers and streams and to reclaim and drain overflow land.
Three directors shall be appointed for the drainage district by the Commissioners Court.
This Board was authorized by Article III, Section 52 Texas Constitution, Water Code, 56.061 and was created by the Commissioners Court of Nueces County on January 10, 1927. County set the district’s tax rate in 1979.
Small Taxing Unit Notice
The Nueces County Drainage District #3 will hold a meeting at 8:30 AM on September 9, 2022 at True Gin
Co-Op Office FM 70, Bishop, Texas to consider adopting a proposed tax rate for tax year 2022. The
proposed tax rate is $0.146265 per $100 of value.
The proposed tax rate would increase total taxes in Nueces County Drainage District #3 by 1.47%.

The 86th Texas Legislature modified the manner in which the voter-approval tax rate is calculated to limit

Notice of Adopted 2022 Tax Rate
Nueces County Drainage District #3 adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.
The tax rate will effectively be raised by 1.52% and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $0.00
